¿Qué es Ozempic?

Ozempic es un medicamento con receta que contiene semaglutida, un agonista del receptor GLP-1, usado principalmente para el manejo de la diabetes tipo 2. Ayuda a controlar los niveles de azúcar en sangre al mejorar la secreción de insulina y ralentizar el vaciado gástrico. Además, Ozempic puede apoyar la pérdida de peso en adultos con o sin diabetes al reducir el apetito.

Side Effects

• Change in how much or how often you urinate, lower back or side pain, blood in your urine
• Unusual moods or behaviors, depression, thoughts of hurting yourself or others
• Blurred vision or any other change in vision

Warnings

• Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, pancreas problems, diabetes, digestion problems (including gastroparesis), or a history of diabetic retinopathy or depression. Tell your doctor if you are planning to have surgery or other procedures.
• Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
• This medicine may cause the following problems:Increased risk of thyroid tumorPancreatitis (swelling of the pancreas)Gallbladder problems, including cholelithiasis, cholecystitisLow blood sugar (when used with other diabetes medicine)Dehydration, which can lead to kidney problemsSevere stomach or bowel problemsEye or vision problems, including diabetic retinopathyIncreased heart rateIncreased risk for depression or thoughts of suicideIncreased risk of food or liquid getting into the lungs during surgery or other procedures
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Do not use this medicine for at least 2 months before you plan to become pregnant.
• Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
