¿Qué es Amzeeq?
Amzeeq (minociclina) es una formulación en espuma tópica aprobada para el tratamiento de acné vulgar moderado a severo en pacientes de 9 años en adelante. Representa la primera forma tópica de minociclina, un antibiótico, que ofrece un enfoque innovador para el manejo del acné al reducir la inflamación y el crecimiento bacteriano sin la exposición sistémica típicamente asociada con la minociclina oral. Este producto se aplica una vez al día y ha demostrado ser efectivo en la reducción de lesiones acnéicas con un perfil de seguridad similar al de otros tratamientos tópicos.Side Effects
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Blistering, peeling, red skin rash
- Dark urine or pale stools, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, yellow skin or eyes
Warnings
- It is not safe to take this medicine during pregnancy. It could harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant.
- Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, diarrhea, or eye or vision problems.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:Slow bone growth or permanent change in tooth color (in children 8 years of age and younger)Liver problemIncreased pressure inside the headAutoimmune disorders, including lupus-like syndromeSerious skin reactions, which can be life-threatening
- This medicine may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or spinning feeling. Do not drive or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you.
- This medicine can cause diarrhea. Call your doctor if the diarrhea becomes severe, does not stop, or is bloody. Do not take any medicine to stop diarrhea until you have talked to your doctor. Diarrhea can occur 2 months or more after you stop taking this medicine.
