What is Levobunolol Hcl?
Levobunolol HCl is a nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker used primarily in the treatment of glaucoma. It functions by reducing aqueous humor production and increasing outflow, thereby lowering intraocular pressure. This medication is effective for long-term management of ocular hypertension and chronic open-angle glaucoma.Side Effects
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Blistering, peeling, red skin rash
- Chest pain, trouble breathing
Warnings
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have heart disease, diabetes, an overactive thyroid, lung or breathing problems, blood vessel problems (including Raynaud phenomenon), myasthenia gravis, or a history of heart failure.
- Ophthalmic routeIf you hurt your eye, develop an eye infection, or need to have eye surgery, talk with your doctor right away. You may need to change your medicine or stop using it.
- Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. You may need to stop using this medicine several days before you have surgery or medical tests.
- Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
