What is Talicia?
Talicia is an oral antibiotic combination therapy consisting of omeprazole, amoxicillin, and rifabutin. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection in adults, aimed at reducing the risk of duodenal ulcer recurrence. - Severe diarrhea that does not go away, stomach cramps or pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Blistering, peeling, red skin rash
Warnings
- Using this medicine while you are pregnant can harm your unborn baby. Use birth control pills together with another form of birth control (including condom, diaphragm, or contraceptive foam or jelly) to keep from getting pregnant. If you think you have become pregnant while using the medicine, tell your doctor right away.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, eye or vision problems, or lupus.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:Serious skin reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), and drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS)Kidney problems, including acute tubulointerstitial nephritisCutaneous or systemic lupus erythematosus
- This medicine can cause diarrhea. Call your doctor if the diarrhea becomes severe, does not stop, or is bloody. Do not take any medicine to stop diarrhea until you have talked to your doctor. Diarrhea can occur 2 months or more after you stop taking this medicine.
- This medicine may cause your skin, tears, saliva, sweat, urine, or bowel movements to turn a brownish-orange color. Your contact lenses could become permanently discolored.

- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
