Phenytoin comes in capsule form and is used to treat and prevent seizures. It works by slowing down impulses in the brain that cause seizures. Phenytoin does not treat all types of seizures, and your doctor will determine whether it is the right medication for you. Common side effects may include dizziness drowsiness, nausea and vomiting.
