¿Qué es Captopril-Hydrochlorothiazide?

Captopril-Hidroclorotiazida es una medicación combinada utilizada en el tratamiento de la hipertensión. Captopril actúa inhibiendo la enzima convertidora de angiotensina, disminuyendo la presión arterial y mejorando el flujo sanguíneo, mientras que la Hidroclorotiazida es un diurético que ayuda a reducir el exceso de líquido en el cuerpo. Este efecto sinérgico no solo reduce la presión arterial, sino que también disminuye el riesgo asociado con la presión arterial alta, como los infartos cerebrales y ataques al corazón.

Side Effects

• Dry mouth, increased thirst, muscle cramps, nausea, vomiting
• Sores, reddish patch or irritated area, shiny bump, pink growth, or white, yellow or waxy scar-like area on the skin
• Fever, chills, cough, sore throat, and body aches

Warnings

• This medicine is not safe to take during pregnancy, especially in your second or third trimester. It could harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant.
• Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease (including patients on dialysis), liver disease, heart or blood vessel disease, heart failure, diabetes, gout, collagen-vascular disease (including lupus or scleroderma), or a history of asthma or allergies, or if you have had surgery of the nerves.

• This medicine could lower your blood pressure too much, especially when you first use it or if you are dehydrated. Stand or sit up slowly if you feel lightheaded or dizzy.
• Drink plenty of fluids if you exercise, sweat more than usual, or have diarrhea or vomiting while you are using this medicine.
