¿Qué es Enalaprilat?

Enalaprilato es el metabolito activo de enalapril, un medicamento utilizado principalmente para tratar la presión arterial alta y la insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva. Funciona como un inhibidor de la enzima convertidora de angiotensina (ECA), lo cual ayuda a relajar los vasos sanguíneos y reducir la carga de trabajo sobre el corazón. Administrado por vía intravenosa, el Enalaprilato se utiliza a menudo cuando la terapia oral no es factible.

Side Effects

• Blistering, peeling, red skin rash
• Dark urine or pale stools, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, yellow skin or eyes
• Lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting

Warnings

• It is not safe to take this medicine during pregnancy. It could harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant.
• Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, if you have diabetes, heart disease, heart failure, kidney disease, a collagen vascular disease such as lupus or arthritis, or if you are on dialysis.
• This medicine may cause the following problems: Liver problemsKidney problemsHyperkalemia (too much potassium in the blood)
• This medicine could lower your blood pressure too much, especially when you first use it or if you are dehydrated. Stand or sit up slowly if you are dizzy. Do not drive or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you.
• Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. You may need to stop using this medicine several days before you have surgery or medical tests.
