Omnipaque (iohexol) es un agente de contraste no iónico y de baja osmolaridad utilizado en estudios radiográficos como la angiografía, tomografías computarizadas (TC) y otros procedimientos que requieren la visualización de regiones específicas del cuerpo. Ayuda a los profesionales de la salud a visualizar y evaluar áreas como los vasos sanguíneos, órganos y cavidades corporales mejorando el contraste de la imagen. Omnipaque es bien tolerado por la mayoría de los pacientes y está disponible en varias concentraciones adaptadas a diferentes necesidades diagnósticas.Side Effects
- Sudden or severe headache, problems with vision, speech, or walking
- Chest pain, trouble breathing, coughing up blood
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
Warnings
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, heart or blood vessel problems, heart failure, a blood disorder (including anemia or sickle cell disease), diabetes, lung disease, thyroid problems, multiple sclerosis, pheochromocytoma, or multiple myeloma. Tell your doctor if you have a history of stroke, heart attack, or seizures. Tell your doctor if you have asthma, hay fever, or an allergy to any food or iodine.
