Ezetimibe-Atorvastatin is a combination medication used for the treatment of high cholesterol, particularly in patients who cannot adequately control their cholesterol levels through diet and exercise alone. Ezetimibe works by reducing the absorption of cholesterol in the intestines, while Atorvastatin, a statin, helps by blocking the enzyme in the liver responsible for cholesterol production. Together, these mechanisms effectively lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, and can modestly increase HDL cholesterol.
