Farxiga is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. Farxiga belongs to the gliflozin class of drugs. This drug works in your kidneys and increases the amount of sugar excreted in your urine. Farxiga is a brand version of the drug dapagliflozin propanediol. This medication was approved by the US FDA in 2014. In the treatment of type 2 diabetes, farxiga use is fairly common.
