What is Rhofade?
Rhofade (oxymetazoline hydrochloride) cream is a topical medication approved for the treatment of persistent facial redness (erythema) associated with rosacea in adults. It works as a selective alpha1A adrenoceptor agonist which constricts the dilated blood vessels in the skin, effectively reducing the redness.
Side Effects
- Worsening of rosacea pimples
- Blurred vision, eye pain
- Chest pain, trouble breathing
Warnings
- Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, heart or blood vessel problems, high or low blood pressure, irritated skin or open sores on the face, narrow-angle glaucoma, Raynaud syndrome, Sjören syndrome, scleroderma, thromboangiitis obliterans, enlarged prostate, or a history of stroke.

- Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.
