Insulin Lispro is a medication prescribed for individuals with type 1 diabetes, where the body does not produce insulin, and for those with type 2 diabetes, where the body does not use insulin effectively. This medication helps control blood sugar levels, which is crucial for preventing serious health issues like heart disease, kidney problems, and nerve damage. Insulin Lispro is a manmade form of insulin that acts quickly in the body. It helps to lower blood sugar by allowing sugar to enter the cells for energy and by stopping the liver from producing more sugar. It is typically injected under the skin, and the timing of the injection is important, often related to meals. Common side effects may include low blood sugar, which can cause symptoms like shakiness, sweating, or confusion. It is essential to follow your healthcare provider's instructions carefully regarding how and when to use Insulin Lispro. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about your treatment.
