What is Tavaborole?
Tavaborole is an antifungal medication used topically to treat fungal infections of the toenails, specifically onychomycosis caused by Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes. It functions as an oxaborole antifungal that inhibits fungal protein synthesis by blocking the aminoacyl-transfer RNA synthetase enzyme. Tavaborole is marketed under the brand name Kerydin and is applied directly to the infected toenail area.

- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Ingrown toenail
