¿Qué es Codeine Sulfate?

El sulfato de codeína es un analgésico opioide utilizado principalmente para aliviar el dolor de leve a moderado. Actúa al unirse a los receptores opioides en el cerebro, alterando la percepción y la respuesta al dolor. Además, puede ser efectivo para reducir la tos cuando se utiliza en dosis bajas, aunque principalmente se prescribe para el manejo del dolor.

Side Effects

• Severe confusion, lightheadedness, dizziness, fainting
• Extreme dizziness or weakness, shallow breathing, slow or uneven heartbeat, sweating, cold or clammy skin, seizures
• Severe constipation, stomach pain, or vomiting

Warnings

• This medicine can be habit-forming. Do not use more than your prescribed dose. Call your doctor if you think your medicine is not working.
• This medicine may cause constipation, especially with long-term use. Ask your doctor if you should use a laxative to prevent and treat constipation.
• Do not stop using this medicine suddenly. Your doctor will need to slowly decrease your dose before you stop it completely.
