What is Bupropion Hcl?
If you are diagnosed with major depression, your doctor may prescribe bupropion. In treating depression, bupropion may be used alone or in combination with other drugs. Also, for people who have trouble quitting smoking, bupropion might be helpful.

Bupropion is a generic medication also sold under the brand names Wellbutrin, Buproban, Aplenzin, Budeprion, and Zyban. Bupropion was approved for use by the FDA in 1985.
